Queen Halle

I’ve always admired Halle Berry’s fashion choices, and this one is no different.  Here’s Halle gracing the red carpet, and putting others to shame at the Essence  Black Women In Film Awards Luncheon in Los Angeles.  I love the dress by Reem Acra, but the back is just a bit fussy for me, but despite that Halle pulls it off flawlessly.  I also adore the CL peeptoe, platform, slingbacks.

She Was Down, But Not Out!

Posted in Rihanna with tags , , , , , on February 21, 2009 by Kenya

Rihanna was spotted in L.A. on her way to the airport.  As you all can see, the girl is back to her normal, gorgeousness.    Her birthday was yesterday (Friday) so happy belated b-day Ri.

Emerging a stronger person, hopefully she'll leave that savage alone, and get some counseling.

Working the Red Carpet @ the NAACP Image Awards Pre-Show

These lovely ladies continue to put their foots in fashion, well except Angela Simmons, who just can’t seem to find her way through the fashion jungle.  I have hope for her yet, and I think that as she matures, she’s going to find her look, however this just isn’t it.  I’ve alway thought Angela was pretty cute, but all that hair isn’t going to cut it.  I don’t like the jumpsuit’s plunging neckline, and the fact that her bra is showing.  The whole thing just looks ill-fitting.  As her older, and more stylish sister, Vanessa needs to take Angie under her stylish wing.

Keep trying, one day you will get it right.

Older sister Vanessa’s look is so 50’s, as evidenced by the skirt, meets rocker chick with the leather jacket.  She looks young, fresh, and fun.  I just wish I had a better look at those shoes, because they look like they may be FEROCIOUS! Anyway, this isn’t surprising, because I can’t remember a time when Vanessa didn’t bring her A-game.

Love the look Vanessa!

Taraji killed it in her yellow/orange dress.  She looks like a walking flame, and a definite Oscar caliber actress!  I’m keeping my fingers crossed that she will take it home.  She’s most definitely becoming more evolved with her fashion choices, as the dress, hair, and makeup are flawless.  I’m not all that crazy about the shoes, but I’ll overlook them.  Has she been getting style tips from another Oscar winning actress?

The dress is ab-fab, go on Taraji!

Look at Tatyana Ali looking gorgeous.  She doesn’t look that much different from when she played Will’s younger cousin on the Fresh Prince.  I like this dress on her.  It’s very age appropriate for the 30 year old actress/singer.  Once again, the shoes don’t inspire me, but she looks gorgeous.

It’s Nice To See Jennifer Smiling, But the Outfit Has To Go!

Posted in fashion, Funky Fashion Faux Pas, Hudsons, Jennifer Hudson with tags , , , , on February 7, 2009 by Kenya

Now that JHud is back on the scene, and seems to be coming to terms with her family tragedy, I can go back to critiquing her clothes.  Here’s Miss Jen @ an event for “Music Cares, and I gotta tell you, I’m not thrilled about the gold business blazer, or those awful gladiator sandals that look a little too small.

Not that the outfit can’t be salvaged if she’d take off the jacket and donate it to Goodwill, along with the shoes.  Jennifer’s lost some weight which given what happened is perfectly normal.  She’s looking good, and she’s sporting a big smile, which always looks good.  I just don’t want to see her start “going Hollywood” and losing so much weight she looks like a bauble-head, like a certain someone.  Anyway,  my fave Dreamgirl is up for four Grammy’s this year, and I’m sure she’ll take at least one home.  That will make an Oscar, and a Grammy.  Now if she can just win a Tony, she’ll have upstaged Beyonce once again!

Jennifer in L.A. She should have re-thought the jacket and shoes.

Cute Shoes….Rihanna

Rihanna wandering the streets of L.A. in some really cute shoes.  I normally don’t like this color when it comes to shoes, but these make me re-think that!  She and Chris are together so much, that she looks weird without him.  When her singing career fizzles, she’s got a great future as a runway model with those long legs.

Thanx for the photo Concrete Loop!

Kimo And Djimon

Posted in Baby News, Kimora Simmons, Movies, red carpet with tags , , , , , , , , , , , on January 30, 2009 by Kenya

I absolutely adore Kimora Lee Simmons, and here she is on the red carpet at the Los Angeles premiere of Push, which took home multiple awards from Sundance.  Anyway, I just think these two are such a good looking couple, and are obviously in love with each other.   Kimora shuts bossip critics up by glamming it up.  I love that she can be casually cute one day, and a glowing diva the next.  Peep the hand action going on behind her back.  I wonder if she smiled this much when she was with Russell?  BTW…Kimora has some pretty big feet…like me, and I love that she put some thought into where to place her tat..not only is it small, but it’s in a place that really doesn’t take away from her overall look.  Now, I love Mary J Blige, and Keyshia Cole, but when they glam it up, all I see are those horrible tats.  Ladies, stop inking yourselves up, it only looks foolish when you get older!

Kimo is all smiles, and Djimon is as suave as ever

Taraji P. Henson Lights Up SAG’s Red Carpet

Taraji strikes a pose on the red carpet in Los Angeles

Taraji strikes a pose on the red carpet in Los Angeles

I”ve always like Taraji P. Henson, especially in Hustle and Flow, where she played a mentally challenged, pregnant, hoe ( Did I fuck up?).   She didn’t win the Award for her role in the movie Benjamin Button with Brad Pitt, but she sure did stun on the red carpet in a white Herve Leroux gown.  Taraji was flawless from head to toe. The hair was simple, the make-up was understated, and the dress was  elegant, without being over the top.  In order to pull of such a form fitting white dress you’d better have on some fantastic foundation garments, or be  in tip-top shape, as white will show every ripple, dent, and roll on your body.  I’m hearing nothing but good things about Benjamin Button, so I guess that’s what I’ll be doing tonight.  Anyway, Taraji…keep up the good work, and I’m sure your time to shine is right around the corner.
